We were fortunate to be able to welcome Father Terkura Igbe, visiting the Parish for the weekend of 29th & 30th September. Father Terkura belongs to the 'Spiritans', previously known as the Holy Ghost Fathers. This is a brief summary of Fr. Terkura's warm, engaging and compelling homily, and his brief biography and appeal for support, at the 9.30am Mass at St. Pius.

Two First Holy Communion Masses were celebrated at St. Pius on Saturday 20th May.
Father Alan's homily today concentrated on Reconciliation, reflecting the season of Lent and anticipating the forthcoming Reconciliation Festival which is part of the First Holy Communion Programme. There was an enactment on the Sanctuary of the Sacrament of Confession, where a young volunteer bravely wore and carried his "sins" as paper labels. Fr. Alan symbolically tore up the sins, which were then graphically transferred to the outstretched arms of Christ on the cross: a visual instruction to the First Holy Communion children, and to us all.
