Thanks to Anne Hoye, both for organising this event and for telling St Pius InPrint about it.
We have Helen Stewart to thank for this recipe. As it happens, I was fortunate enough to try a slice of the courgette cake Helen had made for the Women's World Day of Prayer, and - trust me - it is very good! (It's all part of an editor's work...)
Some readers will recall Anne Davie's fascinating article "A Brief History of Lace Making" of just over a year ago - and any who do not are highly recommended to read it!
Anne has been busy again, this time with a four-month project which has resulted in the beautifully intricate altar cloth lace border which was used at St. Pius for the first time this Easter.
Perhaps we shall persuade Anne - after she has recovered from her labours of course - to tell us a little more about how her latest creation came to be.
A large team of flower arrangers was in the church on Holy Saturday, working with great skill on the magnificent array of floral arrangements which would welcome us to the Easter celebrations. Our thanks are due to Jan Morris and her dedicated team.
